July 27th, 2008 — Humor, Back To Basics
From an email I recently received. I have no idea of its origin:
—————————
I remember the time that Kathryn, one of my daughter’s little friends, told me that she wanted to be President one day. Both of her parents are liberal Democrats and were standing there with us - and I asked Kathryn, “If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?”
Kathryn replied, “I would give houses to all the homeless people.”
“Wow, what a worthy goal you have there, Kathryn.” I told her,”You don’t have to wait until you are President to do that - you can come over to my house and clean up all the dog poop in the back yard and I will pay you $5.00. Then we can go over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $5.00 to use for a new house.”
Kathryn, who was about 4 years old, thought that over for a second, and then she replied, “Why doesn’t the homeless guy come over and clean up the dog poop himself, and you can pay him the $5.00?”
“Welcome to the Republican Party, Kathryn”.
July 15th, 2008 — Government, Back To Basics
On the day after Barack KKK not Proud of and God Damn America Disown Everyone I Hang With Blow up the Pentagon Hussein Obama addressed the NAALCP (liberal colored people), I thought I would share this.
Democrats talking to the NAACP is like speaking to a group of children and telling them what the government is going to promise them for Christmas. And these fools buy it every time.
This one is a little different.. Two Different Versions! Two Different Morals!
OLD VERSION: The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.
The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.
Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.
The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!
MODERN VERSION:
The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.
The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.
Come winter, the shivering grasshoppe r calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.
CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast.
How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?
Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper, and everybody cries when they sing, “It’s Not Easy Being Green.”
Jesse Jackson stages a demonstration in front of the ant’s house where the news stations film the group singing, “We shall overcome.” Jesse then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper’s sake, while shaking down the businesses selling to the ant.
Nancy Pelosi & Barack KKK Hate America Hussein Obama exclaim in an interview with Keith Olbermann that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.
Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer.
The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the government.
Hillary gets her old law firm to represent the grasshopper in a defamation suit against the ant, and the case is tried before a panel of federal judges that Bill Clinton appointed from a list of
single-parent welfare recipients.
The ant loses the case.
The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ant’s food while the government house he is in, which just happens to be the ant’s old house, crumbles around him because he doesn’t maintain it.
The ant has disappeared in the snow.
The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote.
July 4th, 2008 — Constitution, Back To Basics, 2nd Amendment
Joseph Farah lays it all out.
Side note to liberals: The citizens won 5 to 4. I would stop trying to tread on my rights and property, if I were you. - HD
Hat tip to Patty at Givemeliberty.org.
“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.
No court is going to preserve your God-given right to bear arms and defend yourself and your family from criminals, terrorists and tyrannical government. It’s up to you to preserve that right – by exercising it.
Rights are like muscles. You don’t use ‘em, you lose ‘em.
While I am naturally gratified by the U.S. Supreme Court’s 5-4 ruling this week upholding the Second Amendment’s affirmation of an individual right to bear arms, I must note with anxiety the closeness of that decision.
I sure hope America’s liberty doesn’t rest on the shoulders of Anthony Kennedy. He happened to get this one right. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. More often, Kennedy sides with those who distort, twist, pervert and subvert the clear meaning of our Constitution.
What do you suppose is the single most productive thing you can do to preserve your inalienable, Second Amendment-protected right to bear arms?
No, it’s not writing a letter to your congressman.
No, it’s not voting for a certain presidential candidate in 2008.
No, it’s not joining an organization that defends those rights.
As important as those actions might be, there is something far more critical to the long-term preservation of your right to self-defense. In the next week, as you are commemorating the birth of our nation and celebrating its independence, you should go out and buy guns.
I’ve thought long and hard about the best approach to protecting this precious freedom. And
this is it.
It’s the prudent thing to do.
It’s the right thing to do.
It’s the effective thing to do.
It is your sovereign birthright. It is your duty.
When Injustice John Paul Stevens wrote his minority opinion in the Heller case, he disingenuously pretended to believe the founders were protecting not the right of individuals to bear arms but the power of government to maintain a monopoly on force. Incredible!
He can’t be that ignorant. This is intentional deceit. The Second Amendment is, after all, part of the Bill of Rights – the founders’ effort to protect individual freedom by shackling the federal government.
Justa generation ago, nearly every politician in America understood the purpose of the Second Amendment and defended it vigorously.
But the right of the citizens to bear arms is just one guarantee against a tyranny which now appears remote in America, but which historically has proved to be always possible.”
Tyranny is always possible. In fact, without a vigilant, armed civilian populace, it is inevitable.
There’s only one ultimate defense against the imposition of tyranny here – armed, self-governing Americans willing and able to resist it.
Only a well-armed citizenry is an effective countermeasure to deter crime and other threats on our life and liberty. There’s no substitute. None.
Zip. Zilch. Nada.
And it’s most important to arm the weak, the defenseless, the vulnerable, the likely victims. Most guys I know like guns. Most women don’t. Guess what? Women need them more.
Well, don’t sit back and rest on your laurels because the Second Amendment survived a 5-4 ruling by the Supreme Court. Don’t count on members of Congress to preserve liberty. Don’t count on the lobbying efforts of the great gun organizations in this country.
Instead, take individual action to preserve your individual rights. Arm yourselves while you can. Give the gun industry its biggest boost ever. Buy guns for your friends and your neighbors and your loved ones. Stimulate the firearms economy. Start an arms buildup right here in America.
And watch the crime rate drop before our eyes.
There’s a side benefit, too. The more Americans who are packing heat, the more difficult and unpopular it will be for the government to grab the guns.”

The left continues to amaze me with their ignorance and treason.
I get an email with some liberal survey link to the site “Grassroots Netroots Alliance”. Obviously a communist or Al-Qaeda organization, backed by Americans who vote Democrat. Check out this question:
1E: Would you support an immediate 50% reduction of US military spending and a transfer of funds to pressing domestic needs? On the local and state level, do you support Bring the Money Home Now Resolution?
I think they could have been honest and wrote their question with their real agenda. Like this:
1E: Do you support us in surrendering to our enemies we are currently fighting, abandoning all of our allies and basically sitting back and waiting to get attacked on our soil? And since we wish to ignore the Constitution completely, would you support using the money that was being spent for constitutional reasons, and moving it to unconstitutional and communist spending - while allowing states to get involved with constitutionally mandated federal matters that are none of the state’s constitutional issues?
To answer both the question they sent me - and the question they really meant, I would say:
“No, you lousy traitors; and no again, you stinking communists.”
This is your current Democrat Party in action. Learn it, live it, understand it…and fight it - now at the ballot box, or later in a civil war - or enjoy your time in the collective labor camps. - Hank Dagny

I get letters from a lot of policital groups lately as the elections draw closer.
Where else would a smart group go but to the fountain of knowledge found here at LQ?
From: Center for Moral Clarity
Dear Hank:
Recently the California Supreme Court ruled that the state constitution requires recognition of same-sex marriages, overruling a 2000 law approved by more than 60 percent of the state’s residents.
As a member of the Center for Moral Clarity, a national Christian grassroots organization, we are outraged by this wildly overreaching decision. Voters of all faith backgrounds, and even those of no religious persuasion, have long respected the biblical model of marriage, the union of one man and one woman.
My questions for you are simple: Do you support the definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman, or would you support granting marriage rights to same-sex couples?
Will you be honest and open about this position? We are only some of many readers who will be anxiously awaiting your answer to these questions.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Center for Moral Clarity
Response:
Dear Center for Moral Clarity,
I know the definition of marriage as described by God is the holy union between one man and one woman – period!
I am against a Constitutional Amendment or bill changing that definition in any way, shape or form.
However, since it is the states that grant marriage licenses, it is a state issue. My opinion on any federal legislation will depend on the Constitutionality of the legislation, as well as the actual definition spelled out.
I would not be opposed to any type of civil contracts between any two consenting adults. That is none of my business.
Open and honest is all I can be – which is why both Republicans and Democrat fear me. - Hank Dagny

“Members of Congress piously and piteously claim they are struggling public servants, but it is becoming clearer that way too many of them are using their public positions not to serve their constituents, but to enrich themselves and their friends.
Here’s what I think they should do: The August recess is scheduled to begin on July 31 and last until September 5. Thirty-seven days. Rather than taking trips to Paris or Rome, or spending nights in five star hotels in Hong Kong or Beijing they should each pledge to spend just four days—about 10 percent of their summer vacation—living with a military unit which has been deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan in the past six months.
Not in Iraq or Afghanistan; that would be too hard. I mean live with the enlisted personnel of a unit which is back in the United States. And they shouldn’t live in VIP quarters. They should live in the barracks and eat in the mess halls and spend all day cleaning and repairing the aging equipment. And listen to the stories of young men and women who are truly serving their country. And not getting rich along the way.” —Rich Galen
Oh, I think Iraq and Afghanistan is exactly where the Congress-critters need to go live for a while. Only then would they get a taste of the enemy we face and what it feels like to have leaders demanding soldiers fight a half-war.
Members of Congress need to put their lives in danger while listening to the anti-military filth being spouted by the liberals back home.
But the first paragraph of Mr. Galen’s statement needs further comment. Serving as an elected member of the Federal Government is an honor bestowed by the voters and should be treated as a service to your country and your fellow citizens – and not as a road to wealth and power.
The elitist mentality of government officials, and even government employees of all types, needs to be challenged by the people paying the bill. – Hank Dagny

Quotes compliments of The Patriot:
“Go back to Plymouth Rock, Pilgrims! Get out! We are the future. You are old and tired. Leave like beaten rats, you old white people. It is your duty to die… We are going to take over.” —Augustin Cebada, a Brown Beret protestor, demanding amnesty for illegal aliens.
Augustin, if you would have said that within my earshot, you would have been the one doing the duty. How about if I demand you crawl back whatever 3rd world hole in the ground nation you came from? How about I kick your butt all the way there?
Why do we citizens tolerate this disrespect to us, our laws and our nation?
“Those who want to hoist the banner of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the American tradition of immigration should remember that when immigrants were passing through Ellis Island at the early part of the last century, the federal government accounted for about 3 percent of the American economy. Today it is 25 percent. Part of the package deal that comes with showing up in the United States today is our welfare state as well as our free economy… Yes, let’s encourage freedom. But freedom is a privilege and a responsibility. We have enough people already here who think it’s all about entitlement.” —Star Parker
Star is absolutely right. Illegal aliens are showing up for the welfare as well as the jobs. It is the Constitutional duty of the Federal Government to protect the sovereignty of our nation and the safety of the citizens. This current administration and Congress – as well as the next one – have no intentions of doing their duty.

Congress has a method of operation. They cause a huge problem and then call in the only people who can fix it - in order to blame them and threaten restrictions to make the problem worse.
Congress did yet another dog and pony show that was a complete waste of time. They brought the five Big Oil companies up before them to demand bribe money…oops, I meant extortion money…oops, I meant to explain their record profits.
If any of those CEO’s had any guts, they would say, “It’s because global demand has gone up and the United States government has restricted our ability to find, dill and refine more. We don’t have to spend a dime on research and development because you won’t let us. Just like you, we are able to get more money from the American people – even though we do less and less. And for this we say, thank you!”
Rush Limbaugh had this rant:
“I’ve about had it with people who say, “We need to put solar panels on the roof. We all need to be driving the light rail. We all need to be in mass transit. We need to alter the way we drive and the way we travel around.”
What happens if all the airlines just get put out of business? I’ll guarantee you what will happen. We’ll have a national airline like Amtrak. That’s what will happen, in the interests of “making sure that mode of transportation survives,” the government will come along and subsidize some airline, it will be run by them, and it’s going to be a mess.
There’s not a shortage, despite what anybody tells you, there isn’t a shortage. Can I give you an example?
The United Arab Emirates airlines or some such thing just bought 30 or 40 giant jumbo jets over the next 30 or 40 years. If you look at people planning their businesses and making these purchases of major equipment that is a major user of fossil fuel, people are buying. They’re upgrading.
If there wasn’t going to be any fossil fuel 30 nor 40 years from now, do you think people would be buying these airplanes? Do you think manufacturers would be designing new ones?
So all of the real-life indications are that there’s plenty of energy out there, and the bet is of the people in this business, it’s going to be plentiful, and it’s going to be affordably priced — all things being equal and relative — otherwise these kind of expansions wouldn’t be taking place.
If you look at real-life circumstances, you see that people whose job it is to factor years in the future are making bets on the positive side — while the Drive-By Media is telling everybody how worse it’s going to get, how rotten it is, how terrible it is.
And, of course, it’s Bush’s fault, or Cheney’s fault, or the war in Iraq’s fault, or what have you, and trying to turn it into a political issue. Or it’s the speculators’ fault. It’s somebody’s fault.
There are people that want you to suffer. There are people that want you to be challenged. There are people that want you to be mad about this, and there are people that want you blaming people and companies, industries, for this, ’cause they will benefit.
Nine out of ten times these are the same people who also try to convince you that they stand for you — “The Little Guy,” the average American — that you can count on them to make sure this kind of stuff doesn’t happen to you, and when it does, they’re the ones in private going, “We got ‘em right where we want ‘em!”
Those people are Democrats. What is bad for the country and bad for the citizens is good for them. – Hank Dagny
May 15th, 2008 — Saving Our Nation, Taxes, The Clinton's, Republicans, Government, Back To Basics, Democrats, Liberals
“Like it or not, the pressure to raise your taxes will be enormous in coming years no matter who controls Congress. The amount of money government spends, borrows, and prints simply cannot be sustained.” — Ron Paul
This is why a third party is needed now! The revolution must begin at the ballot box or it will surely move to the street.
“Memo to the GOP in Congress, the White House and the Statehouse: We (the United States) didn’t cut taxes, we didn’t cut tax revenues, we didn’t pass tax relief for the rich; we lowered the tax rate on labor and capital, and that is why the economy and revenues have surged since 2003.” — Jack Kemp
“If Congress fails to make the tax cuts permanent, we’ll actually suffer large tax increases. The economy would shed more than 1 million jobs each year between 2011 and 2014. We’d lose more than $100 billion in economic output per year and suffer slower wage and salary growth and slower savings growth. America simply can’t afford that.” —Ed Feulner
The liberal solution is always to do more of what is not working. The only reason for this is clearly for more control over the citizens. Democrats are traitors – pure and simple.
“The power to tax involves the power to destroy.” — Justice John Marshall
“Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.” —Ronald Reagan
On the lighter side:
“What is the difference between a taxidermist and a tax collector? The taxidermist takes only your skin.” —Mark Twain
“The income tax has made liars out of more Americans than golf.” — Will Rogers
But back to the serious again:
“Every time we talk about taxes we get around to the idea of ‘from each according to his capacity and to each according to his needs’. That’s socialism. It’s written into the Communist Manifesto. Maybe we ought to see that every person who gets a tax return receives a copy of the Communist Manifesto with it so he can see what’s happening to him.” — T. Coleman Andrews
To prove that Mr. Andrews has nailed it, let’s let the Democrats tell you themselves:
“The blunderbuss demands of the right wing that we downsize all areas of government ignore two hundred years of history—two hundred years of partnerships between business and government that made America the largest and most productive economy in the world.” —Ted Kennedy, (D-Marxachusetts)
‘Partnership between business and government’ is the exact definition of Socialism. Do you GET IT yet, my fellow Americans?
“We don’t have to be afraid of our values. We believe in shared opportunities, shared responsibilities and shared participation in the community.” Bill Clinton, Mr. “Values” himself
Communism is the root word for Community. And if you think the major opponent of the Democrats will save us, think again.
“The Republican Party is now principally moderate, if not liberal [on spending].” —RINO [Republican in name only] Senator Arlen Specter
My job is to get the knowledge out there. It is your job to act on it or lose your freedom. – Hank Dagny

I am on vacation with my lovely bride and my webmaster 4Putt sends me this discouraging news.
Michigan’s “Senate passes ban on smoking“.
I leave the state for 2 minutes and it goes to heck in a hand basket!
“I can now say Michigan will be a smoke-free state,” said a jubilant Sen. Ray Basham, D-Taylor, following the state Senate’s surprise vote Thursday to enact a widespread smoking ban.
“This is a huge victory for the people of Michigan who don’t want to be subjected to second-hand smoke, which the U.S. surgeon general has said is unsafe in any amount,” added Basham, who has been waging an often lonely 10-year crusade against public smoking.
Charlie Cain, who wrote this, can’t be too much of a liberal suck up, can he? Lonely crusade?
Why don’t Basham work on ways to get freedoms and tax dollars back to Michigan citizens instead of wasting 10 years working on restricting citizen’s rights.
As Sen. Alan Sanborn, R-Richmond, who voted against the legislation said, “I love my country, but, God, some days I fear my government.”
I hear you Al.
You idiot do-gooders keep in mind that when the state comes to ban your activities and freedoms for the ‘high priority on the health of our citizens’, don’t come crying to the rest of us.
If you don’t stand up for people’s rights - even on things you don’t agree with - then don’t expect any help when they come after you.
In this brave new liberal world of Socialist Medicine, the STATE will dictate what you can and cannot do in your day to day life.
Driving is dangerous and gas pollutes. Everyone on public transportation.
Water skiing is dangerous. Banned.
Etc., etc.
You have been warned. The government nanny is increasing her control - like Nurse Ratchett. - Hank Dagny
