Starting with what restaurants you can have if you are on the public dole. Basically, it is communism 101 – government supports you, so you will live as they tell you.

The Los Angeles City Council banned new fast food restaurants from opening in ‘poor’ neighborhoods. The goal of this ban is to combat obesity by drawing a healthier style of restaurants to the area.

The all-knowing liberals on the LA City Council have the audacity to think they know:

what designates a ‘poor’ neighborhood,
what is obese,
which are the ‘healthy’ foods,
what poor eating habits are,
that different restaurants will fill the void they created,
and people will flock to those ‘correct choice’ restaurants,
and the people will eat the food only mandated by the City Council.

Will the City Council then set the prices the restaurants can charge?
Will the City Council then mandate the menu choices and the amounts served?
Will the City Council then mandate the quantity a customer can order – based on the fear they may eat a ‘double’ order?

Before you think I am being ridiculous in my concerns of where and how far the City Council may go, I am already appalled at how far these liberals have gone already.

The San Francisco City Council has now banned pharmacies from selling cigarettes – cutting much needed revenue from the drug stores and hampering the many governments ability to collect much needed tax dollars.

With every city, county and even the state of California in financial hardship, liberals blindly go on their own crusades on how we all should live.

Meanwhile, the job these City Councils are suppose to do; manage a city within budget while providing great services and crime free neighborhoods – they can’t do. But they are on the top of their game when deciding what options we serfs can have for lunch and dinner.

At some point I would think liberals would eventually tell these elite would be rulers – to get their nose out of their business.

But liberals like to be like to be led. That is what makes them liberals. Tyrants prey on these useful idiots in order to get into power.

Democrats talking to the NAACP is like speaking to a group of children and telling them what the government is going to promise them for Christmas. And these fools buy it every time.

OLD VERSION: The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!

MODERN VERSION:

Come winter, the shivering grasshoppe r calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.

CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast.

How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper, and everybody cries when they sing, “It’s Not Easy Being Green.”

Jesse Jackson stages a demonstration in front of the ant’s house where the news stations film the group singing, “We shall overcome.” Jesse then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper’s sake, while shaking down the businesses selling to the ant.

Nancy Pelosi & Barack KKK Hate America Hussein Obama exclaim in an interview with Keith Olbermann that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer.

The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the government.

Hillary gets her old law firm to represent the grasshopper in a defamation suit against the ant, and the case is tried before a panel of federal judges that Bill Clinton appointed from a list of
single-parent welfare recipients.

The ant loses the case.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ant’s food while the government house he is in, which just happens to be the ant’s old house, crumbles around him because he doesn’t maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow.

The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote.

Massachusetts got a report on its socialized health care program. The Urban Institute, a left wing Washington think tank (oxymoron there) says the number of uninsured health care recipients has dropped almost in half. Most of those getting healthcare are ‘poor’.

That is to be expected since the healthcare is being paid for by taxpayers.

Even among higher income brackets, more people are insured. Also, as expected, since the law mandates everyone has to pay up, like it or not. That is to say, the government is ordering you to sign up – for those of you in Ann Arbor, MI.

But the study concludes people are paying less for healthcare. Emergency room visit rates remain unchanged. And employers are keeping their own healthcare plans in place to keep valued employees, as expected.

So with all this good news, government officials in Taxachusetts, as expected, are crowing about the success of this great big government healthcare program. Everyone is happy!

Except for the 100,000 people who paid $10 million in fines because they didn’t sign up. And if they don’t comply, their fines could rise to $1000 a month – per citizen.

Hey, it’s Taxachusetts. Government is supposed to tell you what to do. I think this state joined Cuba and didn’t tell the rest of the United States.

The cost of the year old program – which taxpayers were told would run about $700 million – is running close to $1 billion, and rising.

But the Peoples Republic of Taxachusetts is planning on raising taxes to cover the shortfall, as expected.

If I was a citizen of this communist stronghold masquerading as part of the United States, I’d have fled years ago.

My state of Michigan is embarrassing, sure, but our entire state is not of the Detroit-Lansing-Flint plantation mentality.

We have just ran out of federal branches of government following the Constitution.

For those of you in Ann Arbor, MI., let me put it simply. The government is no longer following the laws of the land – so why should the populace? Liberals want change? You got it.

The White House and Congress continue to tax and spend unconstitutionally. Members of Congress openly speak of taking over businesses and arresting people that served in the government – but didn’t vote or act liberal enough.

Now the Supreme Court – although four of the nine are still patriots of the United States – jumped into the act of ignoring our Constitution for the second time in less than a month.

I’ll let Rush Limbaugh tell it:

Rush: “The Supreme Court” this morning just prior to the program starting “made it easier … for some foreigners who overstay their visas to seek to remain in the United States legally.” The Supreme Court today 5-4, the same bunch that voted the issue last week with Anthony Kennedy writing the opinion, has just green-lighted illegal immigration. “The court ruled 5-4 that someone who is here illegally may withdraw his voluntarily [sic] agreement to depart and continue to try to get approval to remain in the United States,” while still here. “The decision essentially embraced a proposed Justice Department regulation governing the treatment of similar cases in the future. Samson Dada, a Nigerian citizen, stayed beyond the expiration of his tourist visa in 1998. He married an American the following year and soon began trying to obtain a visa as an immediate relative of a citizen. But Dada and his wife apparently failed to submit some documents, causing immigration officials to deny the visa.

“Dada has been trying again to obtain the visa, but immigration authorities meanwhile have ordered him to leave the country. He agreed to leave voluntarily, which would allow him to try sooner to re-enter the country legally than if he had been deported. The court’s task,” and once again, this is the Associated Press, “was to decide whether he could withdraw his voluntary agreement to leave the country and continue to try to adjust his status while in the United States. Immigration authorities recently ruled that Dada had entered a ’sham’ marriage in order to stay [here], but that finding was not part of the court’s consideration. Justice Kennedy wrote the majority opinion, joined by his four liberal colleagues. The four conservative justices dissented.

Justice Antonin Scalia said, ‘The court lacks the authority to impose its chosen remedy.’”

And that’s it in a nutshell. Once again, the Supreme Court of the United States is micromanaging an area left to another branch. In this case, the Constitution explicitly leaves it to Congress to regulate immigration.

This is not what judging is supposed to be about. These judges on the left are no more than political hacks now, imposing their own personal policy preferences rather than interpreting the law. It’s been going on a long time. You know, if they want to be politicians then their conduct has been exposed and questioned. It’s the same thing with their attitudes and their motives.

This is not what judging is supposed to be about. The Constitution does not countenance this kind of behavior on the part of judges. The court, I doubt that it will be, but it would be great if it became a major focus of the presidential campaign now that it’s out. The problem we hear again, I don’t know. I haven’t heard what Senator McCain said about this, but he probably agrees with it. He came out stridently against the Guantanamo Bay ruling last week, but he probably…

I don’t know, but if he understands this as an encroachment on congressional authority, then he’s got to oppose this. The Supreme Court just told Congress, “You can’t do what you did. We’re going to write the immigration laws, not you.”

Now, just last week, the Supreme Court of the United States bestowed constitutional rights to foreign-born terrorists. The ruling last week is a chilling demonstration along with this ruling today of the American divide between conservatives and liberals. Four liberals on the court, aided and abetted by Justice Kennedy, used the Guantanamo Bay case as a power grab. Their decision overturned precedent since our founding that placed the prosecution of war squarely within the executive branch. Naturally, Democrats last week and this week are celebrating the ruling, celebrated amid warnings that it will cost American troops their lives. But this decision, the Guantanamo Bay decision last week and this decision on immigration this morning, both have even broader implications.

Because in short order — in just seven or eight days — the Supreme Court of the United States and its liberal judges have turned American law upside down. And let’s look back further to the past to see just how they’ve also done this.

They have stripped voters of free speech rights, limiting production and participation in political debate.

The Supreme Court of the United States has stripped homeowners of rights to their own property should politicians decide to seize it for developers. That’s the Kelo decision. The Supreme Court of the United States has stripped parents of the right to discipline their own kids.

The Supreme Court of the United States is in the process of defining the very definition of marriage.

They have ruled against legal immigration.

They’ve ruled illegal immigrants must be accorded the same protection as citizens, and American taxpayers must support them financially.

They have pushed God from the public square.

They have used junk science to place the interests of animals above the prosperity of people.

And the Supreme Court of the United States has stripped the most sacred protection, the right to life, from infants in the womb.

Whatever power that liberals cannot achieve at the ballot box they seize through the courts.

And there are people telling me I need to tone down my rhetoric as being too insulting.

My country has been taken over by people in government after their own power and wealth - with no sense of public service, right and wrong or justice – and more liberals will be elected in the next election.

What is truly troubling is very few Americans have noticed the loss of their nation – or seem to care, while 30% to 40% continue to pursue the destruction of our Republic.

Who is the Party that tells us our nation is in a state of decline, and we need to scale down our lives, our standard of living and our expectations for the future – because it is not fair that our nation be that much better than everyone else.

It is the liberal left and the Democrat Party.

They say they hate our standard of living because they are afraid of the effects on the environment. Really? How many oil wells are currently working in the oceans and on land – and hit by natural storms and earthquakes – and managed to damage the ‘environment?

The true agenda of the Left is Marxism and the overthrow of our capitalist system and nothing more.

Big Automobile
Big Retail
Big Insurance

Everything big EXCEPT government! The only place we are allowed to trust and love – the place we go to get even or to fix everything that goes wrong in our lives – is the government.

The 545 elected dolts that run the government and the hundreds of thousands of incompetent liberal government bureaucrats are where we are supposed to put our faith - instead of ourselves.

Now name one government run program or organization that does what it is supposed to do to most people’s satisfaction.

You can’t. So why do Democrats push government as the solution for everything when they fail at everything?

Congress has a method of operation. They cause a huge problem and then call in the only people who can fix it - in order to blame them and threaten restrictions to make the problem worse.

Congress did yet another dog and pony show that was a complete waste of time. They brought the five Big Oil companies up before them to demand bribe money…oops, I meant extortion money…oops, I meant to explain their record profits.

If any of those CEO’s had any guts, they would say, “It’s because global demand has gone up and the United States government has restricted our ability to find, dill and refine more. We don’t have to spend a dime on research and development because you won’t let us. Just like you, we are able to get more money from the American people – even though we do less and less. And for this we say, thank you!”

Rush Limbaugh had this rant:

“I’ve about had it with people who say, “We need to put solar panels on the roof. We all need to be driving the light rail. We all need to be in mass transit. We need to alter the way we drive and the way we travel around.”

What happens if all the airlines just get put out of business? I’ll guarantee you what will happen. We’ll have a national airline like Amtrak. That’s what will happen, in the interests of “making sure that mode of transportation survives,” the government will come along and subsidize some airline, it will be run by them, and it’s going to be a mess.

There’s not a shortage, despite what anybody tells you, there isn’t a shortage. Can I give you an example?

The United Arab Emirates airlines or some such thing just bought 30 or 40 giant jumbo jets over the next 30 or 40 years. If you look at people planning their businesses and making these purchases of major equipment that is a major user of fossil fuel, people are buying. They’re upgrading.

If there wasn’t going to be any fossil fuel 30 nor 40 years from now, do you think people would be buying these airplanes? Do you think manufacturers would be designing new ones?

So all of the real-life indications are that there’s plenty of energy out there, and the bet is of the people in this business, it’s going to be plentiful, and it’s going to be affordably priced — all things being equal and relative — otherwise these kind of expansions wouldn’t be taking place.

If you look at real-life circumstances, you see that people whose job it is to factor years in the future are making bets on the positive side — while the Drive-By Media is telling everybody how worse it’s going to get, how rotten it is, how terrible it is.

And, of course, it’s Bush’s fault, or Cheney’s fault, or the war in Iraq’s fault, or what have you, and trying to turn it into a political issue. Or it’s the speculators’ fault. It’s somebody’s fault.

There are people that want you to suffer. There are people that want you to be challenged. There are people that want you to be mad about this, and there are people that want you blaming people and companies, industries, for this, ’cause they will benefit.

Nine out of ten times these are the same people who also try to convince you that they stand for you — “The Little Guy,” the average American — that you can count on them to make sure this kind of stuff doesn’t happen to you, and when it does, they’re the ones in private going, “We got ‘em right where we want ‘em!”

Michigan’s “Senate passes ban on smoking“.

I leave the state for 2 minutes and it goes to heck in a hand basket!

“I can now say Michigan will be a smoke-free state,” said a jubilant Sen. Ray Basham, D-Taylor, following the state Senate’s surprise vote Thursday to enact a widespread smoking ban.

“This is a huge victory for the people of Michigan who don’t want to be subjected to second-hand smoke, which the U.S. surgeon general has said is unsafe in any amount,” added Basham, who has been waging an often lonely 10-year crusade against public smoking.

Charlie Cain, who wrote this, can’t be too much of a liberal suck up, can he? Lonely crusade?

Why don’t Basham work on ways to get freedoms and tax dollars back to Michigan citizens instead of wasting 10 years working on restricting citizen’s rights.

As Sen. Alan Sanborn, R-Richmond, who voted against the legislation said, “I love my country, but, God, some days I fear my government.”

I hear you Al.

You idiot do-gooders keep in mind that when the state comes to ban your activities and freedoms for the ‘high priority on the health of our citizens’, don’t come crying to the rest of us.

If you don’t stand up for people’s rights - even on things you don’t agree with - then don’t expect any help when they come after you.

In this brave new liberal world of Socialist Medicine, the STATE will dictate what you can and cannot do in your day to day life.

Driving is dangerous and gas pollutes. Everyone on public transportation.
Water skiing is dangerous. Banned.

The reason the “press” has Constitutional protection is so they can be left alone to monitor and report on goverment wrong-doing. The liberals running the MSPAM (main stream press and media) continue to close their eyes on government waste.

The “Government Accountability Office” released a report on the use of government issued credit cards in over a dozen federal agencies over the last 15 months.

Forty percent of all credit card charges did not follow procedure and were not properly authorized. We are talking about 300,000 credit card users spending $14 billion of taxpayer money.

The government cannot find hundreds of laptops, Ipods or digital cameras. Somehow sixteen computer server arrays costing $100,000 each – cannot be found.

The government employee spending sprees finds that millions have been spent on internet dating services, lingerie, custom made suits, gambling charges and mortgage payments. One female federal employee spent over $100,000 a year – for six years – for a live in man.

None of this spending is hitting the MSPAM airways or is either political party talking about reforming the policies or prosecuting or at least firing the crooks.

If auditors found that almost half of a company’s charges were improper, someone would be going to jail. Liberals would be first in line to scream about corporate greed and cheating the common man. When liberals (who else takes government jobs?) steal from the taxpayer, no one cares.

And you want the government managing your healthcare and the energy companies? – Hank Dagny

The Democrats are the problem. So what else is new?

They are not responsible for the increased world demand - quite the contrary. If Democrats ruled every nation, communism would ground progress to a halt – eliminating the need for more oil. Millions would die, but gas would be cheaper.

But they are responsible for stopping a greater supply of oil from reaching the market. They are the only reason the United States is not energy independent today.

The liberals want to know why the government – under George Bush’s presidency – has not done more to produce bio-fuels and other sources of energy to take our dependence away from foreign oil.

First of all, there is no viable alternative at this time.

Second of all, the Democrats ran fro Congress in 2006 on a platform of having a plan to lower gas prices. Prices have doubled since they took office.

Third, Democrats in Congress have blocked every attempt to find new sources of domestic oil, drill for that oil or build the refineries needed to turn the oil into gasoline and other fuels.

Forth, without cheap, dependable energy resources – the United States will always be at the mercy of other countries.

Fifth, Democrats have – when it was not political suicide – said they want high gas prices thru higher taxes in order to force Americans to not use so much.

Sixth, conservation of energy by US citizens will not stop global demand and hence, will not lower prices.

Seventh, without cheap, dependable energy resources – the United States economy will be affected in every single market.

Eighth, Democrats refuse to lower taxes on gasoline to give Americans relief. Some Democrats are willing to look at a temporary ‘gas tax holiday’, but want the oil companies to pay for it. The government never tries to do with less – like they expect us citizens to do.

Democrats are either ignorant beyond belief or truly evil. I believe both. Companies do not pay taxes. Citizens do. If Democrats tax the oil companies, the oil companies will simply add that cost to the price. The end result is the same price.

Chuck Schumer, the Democrat Senator idiot from New York, said this, “ANWAR wouldn’t produce a drop of oil in ten years, and in twenty years it would reduce the price one penny.

We have been pushing for a long time for energy efficiency. We believe in a price gouging bill. We believe there is too much speculation in the markets and we believe that ought to be reined in.”

Nothing Schumer just said would produce one drop of new oil for our nation. Conservation, as I just told you, will not lower prices, will not stop global demand and will not grow our nation’s economy.

Bill Clinton signed the bill stopping drilling in ANWAR in 1994. We would have been using that oil for four years now. Secondly, I don’t believe it would take oil professionals ten years to get the product to market. My guess would be two to five years, maximum. Third, Alaska wants the jobs and the revenue. Fourth, this nation needs the oil.

Schumer wants to go after the very people who produced the product our nation desperately needs. In other words, he wants to nationalize oil like Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. The man is a communist. Want more proof?

Schumer wants to ‘rein in’ the speculation market? What does that mean? Does he want to control oil futures trading and the stock market of those commodities and the stocks of the oil producing companies?

Even if he was in control of US based companies, how does that stop OPEC?

My fellow Americans, the Democrats are not only ignorant fools, but they are power hungry communists that are breaking the economy of this country. The proof is there – and if you vote Democrat – you are an enemy of freedom and this nation. Pure and simple. – Hank Dagny
