Michigan’s “Senate passes ban on smoking“.

I leave the state for 2 minutes and it goes to heck in a hand basket!

“I can now say Michigan will be a smoke-free state,” said a jubilant Sen. Ray Basham, D-Taylor, following the state Senate’s surprise vote Thursday to enact a widespread smoking ban.

“This is a huge victory for the people of Michigan who don’t want to be subjected to second-hand smoke, which the U.S. surgeon general has said is unsafe in any amount,” added Basham, who has been waging an often lonely 10-year crusade against public smoking.

Charlie Cain, who wrote this, can’t be too much of a liberal suck up, can he? Lonely crusade?

Why don’t Basham work on ways to get freedoms and tax dollars back to Michigan citizens instead of wasting 10 years working on restricting citizen’s rights.

As Sen. Alan Sanborn, R-Richmond, who voted against the legislation said, “I love my country, but, God, some days I fear my government.”

I hear you Al.

You idiot do-gooders keep in mind that when the state comes to ban your activities and freedoms for the ‘high priority on the health of our citizens’, don’t come crying to the rest of us.

If you don’t stand up for people’s rights - even on things you don’t agree with - then don’t expect any help when they come after you.

In this brave new liberal world of Socialist Medicine, the STATE will dictate what you can and cannot do in your day to day life.

Driving is dangerous and gas pollutes. Everyone on public transportation.
Water skiing is dangerous. Banned.

The reason the “press” has Constitutional protection is so they can be left alone to monitor and report on goverment wrong-doing. The liberals running the MSPAM (main stream press and media) continue to close their eyes on government waste.

After all, most of it is done by fellow liberals. Hat tip to Rush Limbaugh for the information.

The “Government Accountability Office” released a report on the use of government issued credit cards in over a dozen federal agencies over the last 15 months.

Forty percent of all credit card charges did not follow procedure and were not properly authorized. We are talking about 300,000 credit card users spending $14 billion of taxpayer money.

The government cannot find hundreds of laptops, Ipods or digital cameras. Somehow sixteen computer server arrays costing $100,000 each – cannot be found.

The government employee spending sprees finds that millions have been spent on internet dating services, lingerie, custom made suits, gambling charges and mortgage payments. One female federal employee spent over $100,000 a year – for six years – for a live in man.

None of this spending is hitting the MSPAM airways or is either political party talking about reforming the policies or prosecuting or at least firing the crooks.

If auditors found that almost half of a company’s charges were improper, someone would be going to jail. Liberals would be first in line to scream about corporate greed and cheating the common man. When liberals (who else takes government jobs?) steal from the taxpayer, no one cares.

And you want the government managing your healthcare and the energy companies? – Hank Dagny

The Democrats are the problem. So what else is new?

They are not responsible for the increased world demand - quite the contrary. If Democrats ruled every nation, communism would ground progress to a halt – eliminating the need for more oil. Millions would die, but gas would be cheaper.

But they are responsible for stopping a greater supply of oil from reaching the market. They are the only reason the United States is not energy independent today.

The liberals want to know why the government – under George Bush’s presidency – has not done more to produce bio-fuels and other sources of energy to take our dependence away from foreign oil.

First of all, there is no viable alternative at this time.

Second of all, the Democrats ran fro Congress in 2006 on a platform of having a plan to lower gas prices. Prices have doubled since they took office.

Third, Democrats in Congress have blocked every attempt to find new sources of domestic oil, drill for that oil or build the refineries needed to turn the oil into gasoline and other fuels.

Forth, without cheap, dependable energy resources – the United States will always be at the mercy of other countries.

Fifth, Democrats have – when it was not political suicide – said they want high gas prices thru higher taxes in order to force Americans to not use so much.

Sixth, conservation of energy by US citizens will not stop global demand and hence, will not lower prices.

Seventh, without cheap, dependable energy resources – the United States economy will be affected in every single market.

Eighth, Democrats refuse to lower taxes on gasoline to give Americans relief. Some Democrats are willing to look at a temporary ‘gas tax holiday’, but want the oil companies to pay for it. The government never tries to do with less – like they expect us citizens to do.

Democrats are either ignorant beyond belief or truly evil. I believe both. Companies do not pay taxes. Citizens do. If Democrats tax the oil companies, the oil companies will simply add that cost to the price. The end result is the same price.

Chuck Schumer, the Democrat Senator idiot from New York, said this, “ANWAR wouldn’t produce a drop of oil in ten years, and in twenty years it would reduce the price one penny.

We have been pushing for a long time for energy efficiency. We believe in a price gouging bill. We believe there is too much speculation in the markets and we believe that ought to be reined in.”

Nothing Schumer just said would produce one drop of new oil for our nation. Conservation, as I just told you, will not lower prices, will not stop global demand and will not grow our nation’s economy.

Bill Clinton signed the bill stopping drilling in ANWAR in 1994. We would have been using that oil for four years now. Secondly, I don’t believe it would take oil professionals ten years to get the product to market. My guess would be two to five years, maximum. Third, Alaska wants the jobs and the revenue. Fourth, this nation needs the oil.

Schumer wants to go after the very people who produced the product our nation desperately needs. In other words, he wants to nationalize oil like Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. The man is a communist. Want more proof?

Schumer wants to ‘rein in’ the speculation market? What does that mean? Does he want to control oil futures trading and the stock market of those commodities and the stocks of the oil producing companies?

Even if he was in control of US based companies, how does that stop OPEC?

My fellow Americans, the Democrats are not only ignorant fools, but they are power hungry communists that are breaking the economy of this country. The proof is there – and if you vote Democrat – you are an enemy of freedom and this nation. Pure and simple. – Hank Dagny

The USA Al-Jazeera Today was delivered to my hotel door with the usual litany of liberal failures. But they are written as if ‘things happen’ or ‘it’s Bush’s fault.’ The fault truly lies at the feet of liberalism.

The first front page story tells us that “Hiring leaps in public sector”. For those of you in Ann Arbor, MI, this means government job numbers went up. So with our nation in a recession, liberals added to the tax burden of the citizens and made even more people dependent on a government check.

This is called communism when the government supports people.

Rochester, NY added 289 teachers when school population fell by 1300 students. Can everyone say, “Kowtow to the teacher’s unions for kickbacks to the DNC” Anyone we know running for office from the state of New York who needs donations badly right now?

The second front page article is titled, “Tension in Egypt shows potency of food crisis”. Weird how people are always starving when their government is fascist, communist, socialist – or in other words – liberal.

Here in our country, food prices have soared due to a staple called corn being transformed into gasoline instead of into food for humans and livestock – which produce other food. And the Democrat Congress just increased subsidies to farmers not to grow – while a Democrat Congress celebrates successfully shutting down domestic drilling and refining of oil.

With the price of oil so high – in spite of the liberal solution of corn replacing oil – the cost of running farm equipment and getting product to market has also risen. This drives the price of food even higher.

If you think food shortages cannot happen in this country – think again. Anytime liberals are in charge shortages are natural as bird poop on a statue.

Also on the front page was the story of Barack KKK God Damn America Hussein Obama finally disowned the Reverend Wright correctly. Twenty years of hate-filled bigoted sermons didn’t do it, but one speech in front of a bunch of white liberals in the Press Club, was the ‘last straw.’ For twenty years bigotry, hate and victimization were fine, but yesterday Hussein is finally “shocked”?

And what does Mrs. ‘Never proud of America’ Barack KKK God Damn America Hussein Obama have to say about all of this? All of a sudden, she has disappeared.

What is the liberal black voter to do? Stay with the race-baiting bigoted liberals who tell you that you are a victim and nothing is your fault – or do you stay with the first half-black liberal with a disappearing chance at the White House?

And finally, the USA Al-Jazeera Today gets to the important matters of the day. It sure took them long enough to discuss the real crisis in our nation. “Pressure mounts to drop ‘squaw’ from place names.” No more ‘Squaw Valley’ I guess.

Can I make a suggestion? How about changing it to ‘Hot Indian Chick Valley’ or ‘Indian Babe Valley’? Just trying to help. – Hank Dagny

Colin Powell’s group, Promise Alliance, issued a report about America’s High School graduation rates in our 50 largest cities. In 17 of those cities, not even half the children graduate.

In the largest metro areas – it is the worst. In Detroit, 25% of the children graduate. In Baltimore 34%. Cleveland 35%.

This is in spite of billions and billions spent. These inter-city school systems often receive up to $20,000 – PER STUDENT – in funding. Secretary Powell said, “When more than one million children a year do not graduate high school, it is not a problem, it is a catastrophe.”

Ya think?

Barback KKK God-Damn America Hussein Obama states in a speech that our education system fails minority children.

I got news for this elitist USA hating communist; it is minority parents failing their children.

And the presidential candidate with the fund raising friend – who bombed the Pentagon, but who teaches children in our colleges – doesn’t admit who runs the education system in this country.

Liberals, Democrats and the teacher’s unions run the education systems in ‘large metro areas’. I am not an expert on Baltimore or Cleveland politics, and I will not waste my time learning – because I already know the answer.

I am an expert in Detroit politics. Liberals have run Detroit for over 50 years. It is a cesspool. In every way you can measure a city, Detroit is at the bottom of the barrel.

Liberals run the city – top to bottom.
Liberals are 100% the city council.
Liberals are 100% of the school board.
Liberals dominate the State Education Board.
An indicted liberal Democrat is the mayor of the city.
A Canadian socialist liberal Democrat is the governor of the State.
Both US Senators are liberal Democrats.

Liberals run the education systems because it is an easy job – and obviously a job where you are not held accountable for the results you produce. The focus of the Democrats and liberals is to keep the unions strong and the children ignorant. Ignorant people vote Democrat. Pure and simple.

The USA-Al Jazeera Today ran an article today that should have been an Aprils Fools Day joke tomorrow. Of course with the liberal press, literally every article could fit that day.

The title was “Airport security aims for mellow – Lighting, music help isolate ‘hostile intent’ – by Thomas Frank.

Now I am knowledgeable enough to know that Frank did not write the title. Some liberal editor did. Mine – if I had been the editor – would have looked something like this; “Transportation Security Administration Management Have a Frickin’ Screw Loose.”

The article held these nuggets:

“TSA hopes to create a kinder, gentler screening process… based on a simple premise: serenity adds security. Mauve lights glow softly, soothing music hums, and smiling employees offer quiet greetings and assistance.”

What??? A terrorist(s) hell bent on killing everyone aboard an aircraft while targeting others on the ground, is going to be swayed by a kinder, gentler screening process???

And I don’t want the screeners getting sleepy, lazy or tapping their feet to the ‘oldies’ while playing ‘name that tune’ to their buddy in the next lane. I want them alert and SCREENING PASSENGERS!!!

As George Castanza’s father Frank used to scream, “SERENITY NOW!!!!!!!” What the hell is going on in the government???

No, Hank - a liberal would counter - the goal is to soothe the non-violent people while we “influence some behavior subliminally through color…[while] harmless radio waves scan passengers under their clothes for hidden weapons.”

So I’m being stripped searched without my knowledge or permission but the soothing colors and music will keep me – the law abiding tax payer paying for this stupidity – from going postal?

As usual, liberals figuring out ways to soothe the masses while violating their rights, in order to protect the rights of a few – who mean to do harm to the very nation protecting their freedoms here. This is typical liberal logic. Only liberal bureaucrats with their heads up their collective rectums could even fathom thoughts of such stupidity.

How about an Air Marshall or two per plane (depending on size of plane), more lanes open for screening, profiling of obvious foreign and domestic threats, armed pilots and – discount tickets for qualified citizens who already have legal concealed weapon permits and let them carry on the flight?

You want security on air flight? NRA members would be more than happy to provide it – and free of charge. It would be an American thing to do.

The question was never what do we want as a people? The issue has always been, how do we attain it? Conservatives maintain that small government, capitalism, self-reliance and complete respect for individual rights and property have built the greatest nation the world has ever seen.

Liberals think utopia lies in the multi-time failures of socialism and communist ideals. Utopia must come from government laws and regulations as most people are not kind, fair, nice or smart enough to handle it on their own. It is not any more complicated than that.

Liberals see soup line America and think the only cure is to take from one ‘group’ of Americans and give it to …well, anyone who needs it. Of course in their opinions, liberals are the only ones smart enough to know how to run everyone’s business, lives, and needs. Wants and desires are just pure selfishness – and cannot be tolerated.

Liberals see everyone as members of groups – all with different injustices and inequalities that have to be overcome by government.

I’m sitting in my hotel room reading blogs, while I have the television on in the background.

One of those CSI shows comes on and the storyline is about how a city councilman is murdered over an ‘eminent domain’ issue.

Eminent domain, for those of you in Ann Arbor, MI, is a constitutional provision that allows our government to condemn your property – and take it from you at their determined market price – in order to build a needed road, post office, military base, schools, hospitals, reservoirs, etc.

However, in this show – as with the famous Kelo decision in New London, Connecticut – the property was taken in some back door collusion between a ‘greedy’ land developer and crooked judges and city officials, in order to build a hotel on the waterfront.

The actors reading the liberal script quickly made it known to the viewing audience that it was nasty old ‘capitalism’ that was behind this Constitutional abuse.

Well, capitalism is not behind it. Taxes are. Here is where our liberal media is such a subconscious influence on voters, and it is insidious.

The city is stealing their citizen’s homes for more tax revenue. Pure and simple.

It is the mighty liberal desire for more and more money that they did not earn, taken from people earning it. In this instance, they pay half the real value of the property to the citizens, sell it to the developer at a 100% profit minimum, and then collect a higher tax rate pure acre than they did with the citizens living there.

Capitalism (the developer) was simply the tool used by liberals. But liberals are consistent. They blame the tool used (like a gun for instance) for the crime, rather than the real culprit (the criminal).

Liberals are criminals. And people have died over this Constitutional abuse, my fellow Americans. So add these murders to the abortion murders. Wait until Hillary gets in. You will wish you lived in Tibet soon.
