CEO of AT&T Harold Gineen once said, “The number one cost of business is ego.” Ego stops you from admitting mistakes. Ego prevents you from spreading the credit for successes or accepting responsibility for failures.
And ego prevents you from hiring people more talented than you are. That is what we have with our two major political parties - and it will surely hurt this nation.
Barack ‘KKK Not Proud of and God Damn America - Disown Church, Grandma, half brothers, Crook Resko, fundraiser and Terrorist Ayres, Flip-flop on every issue, fill tires for energy independence, Hussein Obama’ picks a man for vice-president who has more experience in the Senate than Obama. But Joe Biden has never held a real job or ran anything in his life either.
Barack had the perfect pick to solidify his party and his candidacy by picking Hillary Clinton as vice-president. One thing and one thing alone kept him from making the obvious choice. Ego. Barack did not want the Clintons hogging any of the spotlight - which you know they BOTH would have.
So despite what would be best for the Democrats and probably the country (as the Democrats see it), we have two men who are the most inexperienced clowns ever to be on a ticket for the highest office in the world.
Enter John McCain, who has some experience running things in the military at least. By his own admission, he needs help managing the economy.
He won the nomination over Governor Mitt Romney - a highly successful governor and in the most liberal state in the nation - Taxachussetts.
But instead of going with this obvious choice, McCain’s ego makes him pick an unknown, less experienced governor, who is still breastfeeding her infant son!
Romney is much taller and would dwarf McCain on any stage. Romney is younger and much better looking than McCain - even in McCain’s prime. Romney is the better speaker. And Romney has more real world experience than McCain.
Ego makes McCain pick a woman, Sarah Palin, who will tower over him, but she is in heels. And of course she is better looking than he is - but she is supposed to be. She has some experience running things, but now enough to completely overshadow McCain.
You see, with both Obama and McCain, ego prevents them from doing what is best for the country. It has always been - all about them.
The enemies of the United States through out the world are now salivating over either pick we select as president. We will either have an administration with two inexperienced and admitted wimps, cowards and appeasers - or an old man as commander and chief, with and inexperienced political wife still nursing a baby, one heartbeat from the top spot.
A sports better would not like the starting pitchers or the relievers of either team. Nice job my fellow citizens. Nice job. Be sure to pat yourselves on the back when the country goes under, you morons. - Hank Dagny

Quick hit blurbs of truth from an outstanding article by Rocco DiPippo – called “The Audacity of Democrats.”
“There was a pre-Lewinsky time, before moral relativism blurred America’s vision, when associating with people like Jeremiah Wright (bigot) and William Ayers (domestic terrorist) would have automatically excluded someone from attaining the highest office in the land.”
The Democratic Party is now leftist – not liberal. They are openly socialists and communists.
“Ideological descendants of Marx and Rousseau now lead the Democratic Party and they have turned it into a disloyal opposition to an increasingly accommodating GOP. They have molded the Party into a force working stridently and unashamedly against a Commander in Chief during wartime. Think MoveOn, International ANSWER, think hordes of young neo-communists and their indoctrinating, puppet-master Marx-spouting professors. Think Michael Moore, Cindy Sheehan, Noam Chomsky, Ward Churchill and his acolytes. Think NYU, Columbia, The New School and Harvard. Most importantly, ponder the makeup and direction of the Democratic Party leadership. Like Barack Obama and his radical friends, it is appallingly far Left.”
The Democratic Party has devolved into a club for the illegitimately aggrieved, the self-absorbed, the self-hating and the perpetually pissed-off. It is a sanctuary where solipsistic malcontents and their disjointed causes find refuge and support. It is now the political province of the intellectually deceased, where frightened, lock-step ideologues and other small men and women concoct and promote divisive, destructive, weird and cowardly policies developed within a not-so-quaint, quasi-Marxist stricture of gender, class and race.
At a glance, Obama’s quick rise in the world of presidential politics is puzzling. Obama is young and he has less than one Senate term under his belt. Many of the people who tutored and supported him through his personal and political journeys from the backwaters of Indonesia to the main stage of US presidential politics are contemptuous of the US. Some of them publicly express outright hatred of the country Obama now seeks to lead.
So why is so controversial a candidate even in the running to be president?
Because he reflects his Party’s leftist agenda, has unique, prodigious manipulative talents and equally impressive Hollywood attributes. These are indispensable in closing out the dangerous, deliberate game the Democrats have been playing with America’s security and its perceived stature in the world. It is a game that has been going on beneath our noses since the election of 2000.
Its object is simple: the acquisition of power regardless of cost to the Nation. It is something the American people must be reminded of, made aware of, before they enter the voting booth in November.”
IF you vote Democrat, you are a traitor to the United States of America. Pure and simple. – Hank Dagny

To the tune of the oldie, “Eve of Destruction” by Barry McGuire. Sing along. You know the tune. If you don’t - You Tube it - and get into it.
The United States,
will be exploding.
Violence flarin’, bullets loadin’.
You’re mad enough to spit, but not for changing your votin’.
You don’t believe in taxes, but what’s that increase your holdin’.
And even the cell phone tax is..
just too forebodin’,
But you tell me
Over and over and over again, my friend,
Ah, you don’t believe
We’re on the eve of communism.
Don’t you understand what I’m tryin’ to say
Can’t you feel the fears I’m feelin’ today?
If the liberals are elected, there’s no runnin’ away
There’ll be no one to save, with the country in a grave
Take a look around ya boy, it’s bound to scare ya boy
And you tell me
Over and over and over again, my friend
Ah, you don’t believe
We’re on the eve of communism.
Yeah, my blood’s so mad feels like coagulatin’.
I’m sitting here just contemplatin’.
Liberals twist the truth, they know no regulation.
Handful of senators, pass too much legislation.
And voting the same two parties can’t bring lower spendin’.
When respect for personal liberty is disintegratin’.
This bunch of crazy liberals is just too frustratin’.
And you tell me
Over and over and over again, my friend
Ah, you don’t believe
We’re on the eve
of communism.
Think of all the hate there is in Afghanistan.
Then take a look around to Democrat Denver convention.
You may leave here for 40 days in space
But when you return, it’s the same old place
The poundin’ of the lies, the main stream media’s disgrace
You can bury your head, but don’t expect change
Like your next-door neighbor, don’t forget he’s turning you in,
And… tell me over and over and over and over again, my friend
You don’t believe
We’re on the eve
Of communism.
Mm, no no, you don’t believe
We’re on the eve of communism. [end]
Yes, we are that close. – Hank Dagny

Still on the road and still getting the USA Al-Jazeera Today delivered to my hotel room.
1. Page 1 has the headline “Oversight of airport screening ‘a waste’. Report: Gaps found but follow-up lacking”.
I guess we run tests to see how well the TSA does their jobs at airport security – and when they fail – the follow up of finding the root cause and corrective action is just not happening.
Well, what do you expect? The Democrats insisted the TSA agents be government workers. Have you ever seen an efficient government agency? But let’s give the government our healthcare system.
I can’t make up this lack of common sense that is liberal thinking. No one would believe it, if I just wrote it as a story.
2. Page 3A: “Drivers still leaving cars in park.” Driving is down 5% across the nation.
Well isn’t that what Al Gore and the Democrat environmental communists wanted to have happen? Less driving means less business, less tax revenue and eventually, less jobs. But, this is what you get with liberal Democrat approaches to solutions. Get used to it as the chains of communism get heavier.
3. Page 4A: “36 states offer release to ill or dying inmates – Programs help cut costs of health care, officials say”.
Are you kidding me? How does releasing a sick criminal into society save money? The ‘parolee’ can’t work, has no money and sometimes no place to live. He will simply leave the prison infirmary and show up at a regular hospital – paid for by the government – at a higher cost! That is if he decides not to have one final crime spree, since he is dying soon anyway.
Folks, get your guns. You are on your own if you have not figured this out yet. Our government has one job – and that is to protect it’s citizens. They are doing everything but that.
4. Also 4A: “Head of Ark. Democrats dies in shooting; suspect killed”
That’s a shame.
5. Page 11A: “Ravaging fire season torches Calif. Budget – Wild costs spark plan for residential fees.”
Liberalism at it’s nutty best. Instead of the State of California collecting money from logging companies to clear brush and manage forests for them – the State decides it is better to let the fires happen, kill firefighters, destroy homes, destroy acres of forest and pollute the air with smoke – and let the citizens pay extra for it.
Pure insanity – but that is liberalism.
Does everyone see the possible motive behind #4? People will have had enough of liberals, and sooner than people realize. The trouble is – people instead of standing up for their neighbor when liberals take away your neighbor’s rights, people don’t fight until their rights are under assault.
It is too late then, because there are less free people to stand with you. Liberals count on good people doing nothing. – Hank Dagny
August 10th, 2008 — Saving Our Nation, Democrats
Reader Mentor Jim submitted this and called it “The Frog Theory”. I would call it the natural rise and fall of democracies. Athens did it. Rome did it. And now the United States is doing it. People rise up as a nation as a free republic in work boots and fall into a dictatorship in bunny slippers.
“If you drop a frog in boiling water he will leap right out. If you slowly heat the water he will be content until it’s too late to get out. That is exactly how history works. It moves slowly and we never really see any danger until it’s too late.
Remember how suppressed workers were before unions came along? Unfortunately, over a long period of time the pendulum swung too far. Slowly, businesses and factories closed and jobs left the country. We were comfortable and didn’t see the change coming. We blamed everyone except ourselves for what happened.
World War II, and the Korean War, demonstrated how powerful a united nation could be. Our nations, and our families, were united. The father was the head of the family and the President was the head of the nation. Both were highly respected. We were content and happy.
We were good at fighting a hot war but we were unprepared to fight a cold war with the communists in the 50’s. They knew they couldn’t change us but they didn’t care. Their philosophy was to wait it out and capture the minds of our children. They loaded our colleges with many of their professors and waited. It didn’t take long to see the results.
The 60′’s ushered in the radicals, drug culture, and student protesters [Ed. Note: Who now run the Democrat Party]. They divided our families and the nation. The secret to defeating a polite and respectful people is to scream. The louder and longer you scream the better your chance of winning. Radicals are masters at this form of attack. They know if you constantly scream and repeat a lie it will eventually become the truth.
The [liberal] media, and [communist] Hollywood, hammered us with hate America themes and stories. Our service men, and women, were jeered, cursed, and spit on. Even the people, who latter wanted to become their President, thrashed them.
The Reverend King, who was raised in the old school, peacefully changed the race issue and united the people. When he died the new breed of leaders like the Jesse Jackson’s, Lewis Farakon,’s Al Sharpton’s, and Rev. Wright’s put a lid on his efforts and turned racism into a money making machine.
Corporations were green-mailed by threats of protests, product boycotts, or endless lawsuits. Every issue, large or small, became a race issue. The public recoiled in fear of being called a racist. Their voices were silenced because one word could cost you a career, get you fired, or get you sued.
Even politicians buckled under to the pressure. The Florida legislature issued a formal apology for having slavery 200 years ago. They were thanked by being asked for compensation. There is no end in sight for this kind of nonsense.
This election year could be the turning point in our history because the frog theory has come into play. It’s time to step back and look at how the country has slowly changed since the cold war started.
George McGovern was the first Presidential candidate to test the waters [with pure Socialism. He lost in a landslide].
Step two was to infiltrate all the information vehicles such as radio, newspapers, magazines, TV and movies. They were quite successful at that. Jimmy Carter was the first President to demonstrate the leadership skills of the far left. Weak military, high taxes, runaway inflation, 19% mortgage rates, and plain incompetence ended his career in Washington. Iran, a small country at the time, took American hostages and kicked sand in our face. By negotiating from weakness Carter could not get the hostages released.
The big benefit of the Carter years is that they were followed by the Reagan years. The nation got a clear look at the difference between a weak nation and a strong nation. Every student should know this difference. When Ronald Reagan took over the hostages were quickly released, taxes were lowered, inflation dropped, mortgage rates dropped, and the military was strengthened. Russia quickly waved the white flag and waited for another Democrat term.
Clinton took over Carters uncompleted social programs. He weakened the military and tried to pass large government programs. An Intern derailed his Presidency. While he was tied up with his personal problems his lawyers ran the country. He passed up three opportunities to take out Osama Bin Laden. This eventually cost us the loss of our Twin Towers, thousands of American lives, and got us involved in a war with Iraq. By the end of his term the left had captured a large share of the media and it flexed its muscle in 2000. The hate Bush campaign got off to a roaring start. The brainwashing theory of repeating the same story over and over again was launched.
There were endless stories about our evil nation and its President. Top-secret plans were leaked to the press and printed for the entire world to see. Hollywood cranked out documentaries about the evil Bush administration and our evil military. They laid the groundwork for the next election. The ACLU flooded the courts with lawsuits and the Democrat party became a law firm. Almost every incumbent, or his or her spouse, is a lawyer.
They now have the perfect candidate because they can squash criticism by playing the race card. If you don’t like Obama, or criticize him, you are a racist. They can hide his inexperience and background by turning him into a rock star and singing change and hope. They don’t tell us what kind of change [communism. The Democrat Party is the home of the Communist Party], or how it will be done, only that you should hope for the best. By keeping the hype going they don’t have to put anything of substance on the table.
The change being promoted is a change back to the Carter years. Returning to the Carter years of high taxes, high inflation, and a weak military is not the change we are looking for.
The heat is slowly being turned up and the water is getting hot. The old frogs’ better start jumping before it’s too late.”
The only problem with your solution Jim, is that there are plenty of old frogs that are the 60’s communist hippies, or that realize the end is near and just want their social security and healthcare until they meet their maker, and will gladly let their children suffer the chains of Democrat-Communist Party.
Thanks for the article Mentor Jim. – Hank Dagny
July 24th, 2008 — Saving Our Nation, Current Affairs
The primary political advantage conservatives had over liberals – besides being right and having God on our side (neither of which matter to liberals) – is that we are usually focused in our message.
When you boil it all down; conservatives believe in our Constitutional laws and want our freedoms and property held as sacred by our SMALL governments.
It has always been the Democrats with the many different ‘one issue’ voters that made up their Party. If you were a tough union guy, you had to vote with the Code Pink whackos and feminists. In order to cater to these classified groups (groups have no rights in the Constitution – only individuals do), liberals had to dismantle the Constitution – usually thru the Courts and a Congress ignoring their oaths of office to uphold the Constitution.
But now the conservatives are fractured as never before. For reasons that could be its own debate in itself, conservatism has fractured into splinter groups. Our own ‘one issue camps’.
You have the:
Just Loyal Republicans – votes Republican, period.
Blue Blood Republicans – won’t support Constitutionalist conservatives
Christian Republicans – won’t support certain Republicans of certain religions
Social Conservative Republicans – won’t support a Hawk Republican
Anti-Abortion Conservatives – wont’ support ‘restricting abortions’ Conservatives
Christian Conservatives – won’t support conservatives that won’t damn homosexuals
Isolationist Conservatives – won’t support conservatives who promote free trade and/or treaties.
Soon to be or Retired Conservatives – won’t support the shrinking of government,
Free World Libertarians – won’t support close border conservatives,
Free Lifestyle Libertarian – won’t support strong drug law conservatives,
Atheist Libertarian – won’t support religious conservatives,
Dove Libertarians – wont’ support conservatives that use our military, unless we are invaded.
We could argue my groups (and in today’s climate, I am sure we would) or we could add a few more classifications to our newly divided conservative base.
But let me say this as clearly as I can.
If you conservative IDIOTS don’t get your focus back on saving this nation from liberalism – none of your ‘single issues’ have a prayer! My apologies to the Atheists readers, but you catch my drift.
We came within an eye lash of losing the Second Amendment.
Free Speech is under attack.
Our property is being swallowed whole by taxes and the Kelo decision.
Our nation is being over run and bankrupted with illegal immigrants.
Our children graduate from school and can’t read their diplomas half the time.
The media and press are propaganda wings of the Democrat Party.
Unions and taxes are eliminating jobs.
The government restrictions on the energy industry make our nation a slave to foreign countries.
The War in Iraq doesn’t matter right now.
Abortion doesn’t matter right now.
Homosexuality doesn’t matter right now.
Religion doesn’t matter right now.
Drug laws don’t matter right now.
Social Security, Healthcare and Medicare don’t matter right now.
The message for a conservative candidate running for office has to be clear and focused:
Shrink government, lower taxes, close our borders and get back to the Constitution and State sovereignty.
We do that, and the Federal Government and States can vote on all those single issues - legally.
The communists (Democrats) are focused. They vote for lying flip-floppers who shamelessly run as pure socialist/communist peaceniks to get the nomination - and then change into patriotic flag wavers for the election. Or vice-versa in a regional election.
The liberal voter has his eye on victory in the election - first and foremost. They are smart enough to argue with each other AFTER they have taken power.
Conservatives had better re-focus on what is important. And they better do it NOW! – Hank Dagny

A friend of LQ’s, Mentor Jim, sends this along.
It is Pat Condell, from the UK, explaining where his nation is at, and ironically, where our nation is heading.
He makes the point that every time you criticize the preverted actions and beliefs of the radical Muslims, they get insulted.
Sounds exactly like what happens when you point out the idiotic ideas of your standard American liberal.

July 18th, 2008 — Saving Our Nation, Democrats, Liberals
J. R Dunn wrote an article posted on the American Thinker in March, 2008, called the Disgrace of Liberalism. Sorry for the length but genius takes time sometimes.
He has optimism that with the masks falling off all of the liberal elites at this point, that real Americans will – once again – recoil at the sight of what the Democrat Party really stands for. I pray he is right. Here is a short version of the article.
“2008 marks the end of liberalism as a governing force in the same way that 1968 marked the end of liberalism as a political doctrine.
American liberals spent the ’60s seeing their programs and policies collapse one after the other. The War on Crime, the War on Poverty, civil rights legislation, Vietnam, all were either unmitigated disasters or textbook examples of the law of unintended consequences. The Democrats went into the 1968 presidential election as crippled as any political party in American history, choked with failure, bereft of ideas, and facing a general uprising from their own younger elements.
The Democrats’ 1968 Chicago convention marked the end of FDR-style liberalism. Media coverage revealed American liberals as incapable of controlling their own constituency, much less directing a country.
As delegates cowered within the convention center, Movement rioters ran wild throughout the downtown area, fighting knock-down, drag-out battles with the police. Not a single liberal figure made any serious attempt to confront, control, or even communicate with the rioters. Little more than a decade after declaring itself the “American civic creed”, liberalism was on the ropes.
Instead of joining the Whigs and Know-Nothings in historical oblivion, liberalism surrendered to its internal rebels, the Democratic Party’s left wing, indistinguishable in beliefs and intent from any hardcore socialist party on the international scene. In 1972, they ran one of their own, George McGovern, who in 1948 had served as delegate for communist front man Henry Wallace, for the presidency.
McGovern’s defeat at the hands of Richard M. Nixon represented no real setback for the new ideology. American leftists commenced their “Long march through the institutions” using techniques developed by Marxist theoretician Antonio Gramsci to take over the media, academia, and much of the bureaucracy. But liberalism in the traditional sense existed only in the minds of the naive, the ill-informed, and terminally nostalgic.
Liberals claimed a monopoly on compassion, decency, and social justice (as defined by themselves), posing as the sole defenders of civic virtue against a horde of backwoodsmen, racists, and religious fanatics.
This elaborate double imposture served to keep liberalism alive for over three decades in the absence of ideas, doctrine, and serious accomplishments. But 2008 has brought the charade to an end. Events this year have exposed, once and for all, in a way that cannot be denied, elided, or spun, Democratic liberals as the party of abject incompetence and institutionalized corruption.
Eliot Spitzer worked his way to the governorship of New York State as the living embodiment of liberal higher morality, crusading against a series of dubious financial and corporate villains. His downfall as the result of a prostitution scheme too moronic for fiction might be taken as evidence of personal failings and no more were it not for the fact that his replacement, David A. Paterson, confessed to similar activities as the first official act of his administration.
We need only add James McGreevev, ousted in 2004 from New Jersey’s governorship for homosexual escapades with an aide (apppointed to a homeland security job with the state for which he had no qualifications), to conclude that liberalism has subsided to a level of corruption of European dimensions.
It’s often overlooked — thanks in large part to the Clinton “legacy” — that such misbehavior is almost always accompanied by corruption in other spheres. Insistence by Clinton’s defenders that his various lady troubles were “personal matters” succeeded in obscuring the moral connection between Big Bill’s follies and the endless bribes, kickbacks, suicides, illegal mass firings, and vanishing files that made the “most ethical administration in history” so entertaining to watch.
These men are clearly representative of the post-Clinton Democratic Party. They set out to follow in Bill’s footsteps, have ended up much the same as he did, and have dragged their party and political doctrine along with them.
(At this point somebody will bring up the names Foley and Craig. But neither stood anywhere near the center of American conservatism in the way that the Northeastern governors do with liberalism as a matter of course. Foley and Craig were rotten apples. With the Democrats, it’s the whole barrel.)
In turning to the presidential campaign, we need do no more than mention Madame Hillary. The Ma Barker of Little Rock is in a class by herself when it comes to political iniquity (not to mention dodging snipers). The chief puzzle concerning Hillary is how, being so blatantly what she is, she succeeds in holding onto any support whatsoever. There’s a process in quantum mechanics called “renormalization”, in which certain quantities with values of infinity are arbitrarily dropped back to a more manageable “zero” for the sake of solving the equation. This encapsulates Hillary’s political career: truly mindboggling levels of corruption and ineptitude have been continually renormalized by fellow politicians and the media to enable her to survive. These people made a particular type of bargain when they bent the rules for Hillary. Now the ground is opening up under their feet. It has been a pleasure to watch.
Barack Obama was supposed to be another matter. Obama has ascended on a cloud of pure moral superiority and nothing else. That has now evaporated, thanks to impolitic comments from his wife and the news that he has for two decades belonged to what amounts to a racist cult. Obama has nothing else to offer in the way of experience or achievements.
Beyond his current difficulties, there lie his continuing and as yet unexplained entanglement with Tony Rezko (He barely knew the man, he insists. All he did was show Rezko his new house before closing. I always clear major purchases with people I scarcely know, don’t you?), along with pending revelations concerning his relationship with Bill Ayers, a former terrorist who began his career as one of the driving forces of the Weather Underground.
To this gallery we can add Jennifer Granholm, who assured that Michigan’s current slide was as drastic and damaging as possible, Ed Rendell, Hillary’s consigliere for Pennsylvania, John Murtha, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Kwame Kilpartick, charged with perjury, obstruction of justice, and malfeasance in office.
That’s the Democratic Party, the bastion of American liberalism, as it stands. A party whose entire leadership cadre, including presidential candidates, state governors, and Congressional leaders, are corrupt or incompetent or both, a party more suitable to ruling a Balkan or Central African peapatch than the world’s reigning superpower.
2008 is being promoted as the year of the Democrats. Under the circumstances, it’s difficult to see this as anything but media hype. Weak as the Republicans may be, they do boast such figures as Schwarzenegger, Jindal, Crist, and Coburn among many others, not to mention a presidential candidate who, whatever his drawbacks, is a different order of being than the opposition.
But there have been danger signs. In the past few years, we’ve seen a number of “conservative” politicians who have adapted the liberal style, masking their own flaws with acceptable rhetoric. The latest of these is Mike Huckabee, who presented himself as a conservative messiah while governing Arkansas like… well, like a typical governor of Arkansas. Liberalism has demonstrated that these tactics lead nowhere. We must be careful not to succumb.
Liberalism will stagger on. It still has control of all those urban political machines, along with the unions and bureaucracies. But it has no future. Personality cults and ideology will take you only so far.
We may yet live to see this albatross removed from the nation’s back.”
I see only one flaw in Mr. Dunn’s analysis. Our nation was still over-populated with American citizen self reliant ‘doers’. Today, we are a nation of whiners. Combine that with the 40 years of liberal indoctrination from the very institutions the Left took over at the instruction of Gramsci, and real Americans may no longer be the majority.
I hope Mr. Dunn is right. A landslide defeat of the Democrats this time – with all the advantages and cheating they have at their disposal today – should end them once and for all.
One thing is for sure – either the United States Constitution wins or the Democrat-Communists do. – Hank Dagny

So they want you to tell them why you are voting for them. It’s pathetic.
Both parties placed identical ads on You Tube to solicit ads from their base. Hat tip to Rose at the Ron Paul headquarters in Michigan.

It is ‘proof positive’ that neither party can tell the voting public why they should be a [Dem or Rep].

Republicans are socialists and pillow fighters.
